The Golden Globe Nominations Are Out


The Golden Globe nominees were announced yesterday, and the musical “La La Land” leads with seven nominations.  That includes best acting nods for Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling“Moonlight” is next with six. HBO leads all networks with 14 nominations.  FX is next with nine, mostly thanks to “The People vs. O.J. Simpson”, which is up for five awards.


“The 74th Annual Golden Globes” air Sunday, January 8th on NBC.  Jimmy Fallon is hosting it for the first time.  He also hosted the Emmy Awards back in 2010.

Well, you knew “Saturday Night Live” was going to have a few things to say about the election, and they started it off with a tribute to both HILLARY CLINTON and the late LEONARD COHEN, by having KATE MCKINNON sing Hallelujah as Hillary. She even got a little teary-eyed.  At the end she looked at the camera and said, “I’m not giving up and neither should you.  And live from New York, it’s Saturday night.”

38 years ago. . . In 1978, NANCY SPUNGEN, the girlfriend of SEX PISTOLS bassist SID VICIOUS, was found stabbed to death.  Sid Vicious was arrested for the crime, but he OD’d on The Horse before a trial could begin.  DON’T TAKE DRUGS.
